I EFFING LOVE that this show’s main characters (and to an extent all of them a little)

are queer but the show isn’t focused on them being queer (though it’s important/vital in some cases to the context), or coming out stories, or anything cliche of that sort. It’s sci-fi, they save the world from aliens and people who want to tear the rift open.

Just like I love how Doctor Who has so many queer characters just there. Like there isn’t the assumption everyone is straight or cisgender.

Exactly.

So many people assume that being gay needs to be a big deal, but in these shows it’s just not. I love that.
